Pete Aguayo To Coach With Batbusters 18U Gomes

Started my own business in 1995 in order to have more time to coach – Be careful what you wish for…………….. Now Retired, Consulting, Wine Making , Wood Working, Fly Fishing – Living with my “Soul Mate” Kim in our Hill Top home a few miles outside the town of Volcano, CA (population 103).

16 Years Coaching High School Softball: Castro Valley High – 4 league championships and 2 section championships. Moreau Catholic High – 2 league championships, one section championship, won Livermore Stampede: Livermore High – 3 years @ Livermore High with a league championship and section Championship.

Top 10 in the nation and # 4 in the state According to ESPN. Argonaut High in the Gold Country (near home). Coached for 2 years with another Section Championship.

24 Years Coaching a combination of ASA and PGF Softball and currently coaching with Dennis Gomes Batbusters team after my 3rd failed softball retirement ( ;

Played for 29 years as a Catcher, 3rd baseman and outfielder.
Played in 6 National Championship Games

Attended Georgetown, George Mason University, Univ. of Maryland (while in Viet Nam), College of the Sequoias and Cypress Jr. College.

Pete spent most of his coaching career coaching the 3 Time former National Champion Sorcerer Softball organization. Pete started with Sorcerer in 2003 and retired after the COVID shortened 2019 summer season. Pete’s first retirement from Sorcerer came in 2009 when he sold his business to build a home in the Sierra Foothills where he lives off the grid with his Soul Mate and the Sainted Kim. Pete came out of retirement to join Dennis Gomes and the Grapettes Gold team for 3 years before returning to Sorcerer after Phil Mumma’s passing in 2013.

Pete has enjoyed watching former players playing in the NCAA tournament and College World Series. Pete has 19 former players in the 2017 NCAA tournament.  in the 2018 NCAA season Pete had 16 former players playing in the PAC 12 and another 23 sprinkled through the country with 11 Alumni in the 2018 NCAA Tourney.

Over the years, he and his mentor – Phil Mumma have had scores of Champions/Players/Alumni in the NCAA Tournament and College World Series. Pete has helped  139 players attain their goals to play in the NCAA over the past 15 years.

Pete has had the honor to have coached 5 former players who realized their dreams to be selected to play on the Team USA National and Junior National Softball teams.
